A harbour master’s residence.

# A First Look at the Harbour Master’s Residence

I’ve been busy working on the MyMiniFactory Frontiers release, and I thought it was time to share a closer look at one of the new builds.

The basic package will include:

* The Creaky Entry
* South Docklands Foundations
* Boats and Cargo
* Piers
* The Swarf Basin

There will also be an enhanced package featuring the **Breezy Gantry** and this rather impressive building: the **Harbour Master’s Residence**.

## Something a little more stately

I’m really pleased with this one. It has a stately, almost castle-like appearance, making it a suitably grand home for the person keeping the docklands in order.

One of my favourite things about it is the curved walls. This is the first time they’ve been used in a proper building, and they now feature doors and windows built into the curves. There are also special curved wall sections with their own little side roofs, allowing you to use them on a standard-sized section.

Alongside all the usual ClickyWalls features, including print-in-place doors and windows that open, the residence has a few nice little extras. There’s a street lamp outside, a flag flying from the roof and banners hanging down the walls. Up above, you’ll find a dormer, windows in the gable ends and, for the first time, windows in the short wall sections too.

It’s all helped give this building a bit more character—and a slightly posher feel than some of its neighbours!

## Plenty to explore inside

The residence has a 2 × 3 footprint, with the option of a cheeky little porch sticking out of the side. There’s plenty of playable space inside, but it’s the layout that makes it particularly interesting.

Low loft spaces, small passageways and cramped little rooms give players plenty of places to explore. It’s not just a grand-looking building on the outside; there are some lovely little spaces tucked away within it.

## A brand-new roof

By far the most challenging part of this build was the new conical roof. I’m very pleased with how it’s turned out, and it fits in beautifully with the new **Kingspire roof system**.

Kingspire is similar to the Raven roofs, but with a cleaner, neater appearance. I wanted the Harbour Master’s Residence to look a bit more posh than many of our previous builds, and the roof really helps bring that together.

## Have a go at building your own

To try out some of the buildings we’ve already released, head over to the free **ClickyWalls Studio** software. Just log in and start building—it’s easy to use, and you can experiment with your own layouts to your heart’s content.

And when you’ve made something you’d love to put on the table, you can purchase the relevant building files for a small fee and print them yourself—or enlist a friend with a 3D printer!

Mourning Spire update

I’ve made some pretty good progress over the last few days. I’ve got to that point where I’ve got so many little bricks in the 3D programme that my computer’s starting to chug. 😂 I’ve added the bell tower wall sections with the spire above it, which I’m quite pleased with.…
