After escaping the sewers, Sir Reginald Puddlewick heard that several children had gone missing while playing near the old dwarven mines.
Naturally, he volunteered to investigate.
His first Perception check was a 4 so he walked straight past a sign reading “DANGER — KEEP OUT.”
“Excellent,” he said. “Perfectly Safe””
Things went downhill rapidly from there. He mistook a mining cart for a monster, fell into a pile of coal, and discovered a pile of gold which he spent an hour trying to prove was a trap.
It wasn’t.
‘I’m not falling for such an obvious trick. You have to get up pretty early in the morning to fool Reginald’
Deep inside, Reginald encountered several dwarves with pick axes chipping away at the rock walls
Rolling a 2 on Insight he shouted “Ah! The missing children!”
He immediately grabbed a dwarf’s beard and gave it a hard tug.
“Very convincing! But I can tell it’s fake.”
Puzzled another very hard tug followed. The dwarf punched him in the face.
“Good disguise,” Reginald muttered from the floor.
‘Come now little ones’ Reginald said ‘it’s getting late and you need to go to bed!!’
The dwarves began throwing rocks and chasing him out the mines where he ran past a group of children playing outside.
He escaped the mine covered in coal, bruises and carrying a mining pick he had accidentally stolen.
“Mission accomplished!” he declared. “The children are safe and the dwarven guardians Defeated.
